The Leaning Tower of Peaches on Providence Rd
I know to some people its no big deal but I am elated!!! Got a call today from the Customer Service Manager from the jar glass company I deal with saying there was a mistake made regarding my order and they (the jars) are due to arrive tomorrow! Couldn't believe my ears! I thought the fruits for jams would have to stay frozen until next year. looks like we might have a few more days of preserving in the commercial kitchen. real soon.
The Bible says, "We have not because we ask not." Yesterday I wrote that my half pint jars were sitting on a cargo ship near the docks in either NY or San Francisco. After "beating the bushes" as my mother would say, I came across some today. YEEAAAHH!
Lets hope these are actually in the warehouse and not on the boat. I will keep you posted when we start jarring the fresh-frozen fruits for jam.
One of those ships in the New York OR San Francisco harbors contain my half-pint jars! Its a shame you are led to believe you can order & pay for something to later find out it is not in stock nor will it be available any-time-soon. Well, so much for the chutney & jams that would have been jarred...
The supply chain for produce AND jars has been crazy and sparse this year. After waiting for about 2 months, I got the email notice that they had jars in the sizes I needed. This time I ordered more to hopefully keep me in stock a little longer. So we will be busy soon making Chow-Chow, Jams and Chutney!
