The Leaning Tower of Peaches on Providence Rd

Shortened  July 6, mkt

7/6/2019
Well things started out good, weather-wise. Then Texas weather started doing what it does... being unpredictable. You never know what will blow off of the plains. This evening was evidence of that!  We vendors were set up & ready by 5 for the opening at 5:30. At exactly 6pm we were packing up because of impending weather. At least we did get a few sales in that 30 minute period. Charles was the 1st purchasing customer. He brought a pint of Dilly Beans and chose the Berry Peachy Jam as his 1st customer prize. Thanks Charles!

First F.B.Market in July

7/5/2019

Heading to Farmers Branch tomorrow afternoon for the market. Won't be returning as a vendor until last Sat in July. Ken & I hope to visit family & friends on the east coast for a little while. Since we did not go there in late May as planned, we spent that time we would have been in No. & So. Carolina & Maryland, making preserves in the commercial kitchen.
We "put up" 24 pints, 105 half pints and 18 four ounce jars. This doesn't include all the jars we did before we were suppose to leave! Looking forward to the market tomorrow but just as excited about upcoming east coast trip for a lot of reasons!!!

    Greetings

I believe there is something very special about making
preserves. Although it seems labor intense to some people it is pure joy for me! It's almost therapeutic. I love to stand and stir a boiling pot containing fresh fruit. The scent is tantalizing! But, better than cooking the product  is seeing the end result of filled jars with delicious goodness. I hope you will enjoy eating the jams and pickles as much as I enjoy making them.
    O taste and see.....
