So last week, I spoke with another minority female, Go Texan, small business owner. who was feeling as overwhelmed as I was! Because she had been a vendor in the Go Texan Pavilion/General Store twice before, she knew what to expect and shared some of that with me. I think we will need several more conversations before the fair begins before I feel calm!
We learned from last year that, given all we can expect this year, we need to work smarter and harder. Sometimes those paths cross making it harder to tell the difference. So, as the seasons progress, I hope to become a little wiser than I was last year at the same time.
As the elders would say, "Only time will tell.."
Just got the official word. Looks like we will be selling & passing out samples of our Chow-Chow in the Go Texan Pavilion at the state fair this year!

I tried something new today, At exactly 12:05pm, I applied to have some products of Providence Preserves available for sale in the General Store at this year's state fair. The link to apply became active at 12 noon. You might say I was very anxious. If being among the first to apply gets you accepted, then I'm in. But, I know it takes more than that just an application and the non-refundable application fee; you have to be selected to participate. So I wait to hear the good news or not so good news from the Texas Department of Agriculture. Either way I'll be sure to post the outcome.
